    Posted: 30 August 2004 at 6:56pm

G'day

I've been trying to set up uploading to the forums on my site and have no luck.  I have ASPsmartupload and dumasupload comonents of the server (I'vetried both) and keep getting the following error.

DSUpload.UploadedFile.2 error '80004005'
Can't open file for writing.
/fellowship/functions/functions_upload.asp, line 213

I havn't changed the default directory from uploads. Do I need to put in the "../".  this directory exists with the correct permisions.

Some help would be fantastic

Regards
Tim

You should have an option to include sub folders when setting the folder permissions.

There is... Just when a new folder is created it has no write access.  As far as I can see the is no where to change this.  Is is a Control panel that comes with my hosting package and as fairly limited options

Have your webhost check that IUSR_xxx has read/write/create/delete permissions on that folder. Any subfolders created by script should then inherit the permissions.
