    Posted: 13 February 2008 at 12:12am
I am new to the newspad program but have it up and running with one small problem, if i try to upload pictures it says something like "please wait this may take a moment" then when i click ok i get a cannot find page error. I am enabled write permissions on the upload folder and still no joy. This also happens when i try to upload a file. I tried using an FTP program to upload the pictures to that file and that works fine... any ideas ?

thanks

Make sure that the URL link to NewsPad in your configuration pages is correct. It uses this URL to create a full URL to the image and uploaded files so that they appear in emails when they are sent.

Are you sure this is a 'can not find page' and not a '500 internal server error'?

If it is a 500 internal server error then I may have given the wrong advice.

Turn off friendly HTTP errors in IE so that you get an accurate error message will will tell us what the problem is.

"Server.CreateObject Failed" means the component is not installed.

This is mentioned in many other posts and all over the net. A simple search would have brought up the same answer as i just typed ;)

edit:

if the error is in functions_upload.asp, that suggests to me that the component in error is the "upload" component. You need to select one your server has installed or if none are installed you cant use the upload features.

MadDog is correct it means that the upload component you have set in the configuration page within the admin area is not installed on the server.

The server compatibility test within the admin area should tell you what upload components are installed on the server.
