Before the flames start, I know this has been discussed in several threads and NO i am not a WWG newbie. However, I am not that well trained on SQL Server so here is the situation:
My newest forum is generating an avg of more than 50 active users and most of the time it is over 100. I know the limitations of Access but I did not forsee this much traffic or I would have started with SQL Server in the first place. I anticipated a lot of posts but not the concurrent users.
My problem is that I can download the SQL Server version of the forum and can get that setup once I get my SQL Server database going with my host, and I can run the upsize wizard in Access. How do I connect from the local Access database to the SQL Server database which is on my host's server? Is there a way to import my local copy to my host?
Next question: If there is a SQL Server setup page with the forum, has anyone ever considered making an "upgrade" script that would import the information from the existing Access database directly into the SQL Server database?
/edited the 3rd paragraph for clarification
