I know this site is asp-specific and I usually enjoy the discussions about creating or modifying scripts, but this time I have a unique vb 6.0 question.

I want this application I am coding to open when ctrl-alt-end is pressed, and to disable ctrl-alt-del. Does anyone know how or know of a resource on the web that addresses this?

Thanks in advance.

You can assign shortcut keys to execute a program from windows by right clicking on it and selecting properties. If you're going to distribute the brogram, you'd have to have an installable registry update.

To end the program, you have to intercept the keyboard - IIRC, in the form's OnKeyPress event. I forget if intercepting in a modal parent windows event also picks up the child windows events.

Sounds like a program I'd want to stay away from though.

Lead me not into temptation... I know the short cut, follow me.

...darn it. I was hoping to stay away from the registery.

Let me elaborate a little about my application. I got the idea for it from another application called "Gatekeeper pro" at http://www.coralsoftware.com. Personally, I think coralsoftware is defunct because no one from there is replying to my e-mails. "Gatekeeper pro" was one of their application which gives a PC with win9x, win2000-like security (i.e. keyboard locking, task manager, shutdown, etc).

Problem with gatekeeper pro is, it is shareware for 30-days and stops working unless you give coralsoftware money. In return, they give you a registration number and blah blah blah. Like I said, I think coralsoftware is now defunct, but their web page still exists.

So I got tired of waiting for a reply and decided to code my own app.
