I have noticed some telephones VoIP telephones on sites like D-link and linksys. How do they work? Do they all use a server? Are they for internal use (on the network) or external use? If a server is required can someone please give me a link to one (cheap or free please!)

If you live in the US then I think you can use them on a US exchange. I have not heard of anyone in Britain that supports them

The think I hate about the us is how lots of computer equipment is cheaper. But we can't bring it to the UK because you will end up paying a high price at customs.

yes.. but I work for a small US company and almost every month there is at least 1 person going back and forth. so I am lucky in that respect that I can get someone to bring things back for me.
