I am thinking about dumping GoDaddy though as their IIS7 implementations seems less than optimal and their email relaying is terrible. I signed up for one of your free accounts to evaluate your service. I need to run ASP and PHP, MySQL and SQL Server because my main site is Joomla and the forum - WebWiz of course. Whilst it runs OK on GoDaddy they have some quirks with email relaying and also occasionally thier servers spit the dummy and return a 500 error. The hosting packages you offer are a bit light on email storage though....compared to someone like Dreamhost for example. No cron is a problem for the basic package which is what I would most likely go for.

Usually web hosts that offer unlimited disk space use cheap SATA desktop drives which cost under $100 per TB . We use hotswap 15,000 RPM SCSI Drives in RAID 1 or 10 which work out around $6,000 per TB.

This gives many advantages such as vastly improved reliability and performance. Having a redundant hotswap RAID disks also means that failed drives can be swapped with zero downtime to services or websites. Unfortunately the down side is less storage space, however we find that most people don't need unlimited diskpsace (if such a thing even really existed).

When looking at hosting you should look beyond just the attention grabbing headlines and should look at what the service offers, what extras you get, what type of backups, redundant equipment, performance, etc.

We could do that same as the host you mention and advertise unlimited diskspace, but unless someone has invented unlimited hardrives then we all know this to be an advertising gimmick and a way to hide the real diskspace they give. Their limit of diskspace maybe even less than ours, but you will not findout till you get an email asking for more money because you are using to many resources.

Cron Jobs are something you will find with Linux, which is why Windows web hosts don't offer Cron Jobs. However, most Windows web hosts including ourselves will usually allow you to setup scheduled tasks from your control panel which can be used in a simular way to Linux Cron Jobs.

Except URL rewriting is not working in the forum you link to, also the Free Express Edition does not support URL Rewriting, you need to use the Adware Edition or one of the Premium Editions.

Yes - I see that and I tried the Adware edition and noted the google ads - I would not mind so much having the ads though if they were blended with the colours of the forum - is it acceptable to edit the approopriate file (what name?) to match the forum colours?

Unfortunately not snadowitz
The Adware edition is supplied as such that editing the files in any way whatsoever is breaking the terms of the licence
May I suggest that you perhaps consider the Web Wiz Forums Starter Edition package and I tell you why:

1. From just £3.99 a month and zero setup fee you will get the Premium Edition with no ads
2. URL rewriting included
3. Free upgrades included

Most importantly, Web Wiz Hosting is a great hosting company and I'm not just saying that either
