I learned ASP classic way way back and have been using a HTML editor (CuteHTML Pro) all this time. As I haven't been keeping up (retired) I'm thinking about upgrading my editing software. Can I get some feedback on what's good, better best. Also probably start learning ASP.Net.

Is Visual Studio the way to go forward?

I use CodeLobster.
You might consider Notpad++ and UltraEdit as well.

Cheers...

I use UltraEdit it has syntax highlighting for ASP and a tag list to save typing out those common ASP properties and methods all the time.

This is also the software used to create this forum.

If you start doing asp.net though you can just download the visual web developer express from Microsoft which is free and does about everything you need for asp.net. It is usable for asp but maybe a bit overkill.
