I use vbulletin on a couple of unix sites. As far as features go, it's similar to wwf but (IMHO) wwf was easier to admin. Vbulletin had the edge for performance prior to the latest release of wwf (version 8.x). I'd give wwf the edge now. ISTRC that Borg said this site took 60-70 mb of mssql space - 100+k posts, 10+k users. Biggest impact on the size of any db is how you set up your log files. There's a skin contest going on right now (ends July 31). At the conclusion, we'll see a new release of wwf with a skin changer included. The current version has only been out for about 3 months and many people are waiting to see how the official skin changer works before developing skins. There is a skin changer mod (3rd party) but no guarentee it will work with the offical skin changer due in the next release. Other than images though, skinning is css based so look and feel changes are pretty simple. The forum takes up relatively little bandwidth. Picures displayed in the forun will take up many times more. You can control the size of pics and files from the admin section. Personally, I prefer wwf over other forums for the following reasons: - Easy/fast to install.
- Easy to integrate into a site.
- Easy to admin.
- Secure.
- Support comminity.
- Clients like it and I don't spend a lot of time explaining things to them.
Download the free MS access version and take it for a spin. Nothing better than hands-on.

You guys have been great. I hope this Borg person doesn't get ill or something bad happen, or you all will be screwed.. I just may try it out.. Again I came to this site after being on a forum and looking at the source code to see who made it.. It was clean and easy to use. However I need to make money to host my site, so I want to be able to put the adsense ads in here and stuff.

Web Wiz Forums has been here 5 years now, so I'm sure it won't disapear anytime soon.
You can ad Google Ads to your forum by editing the header.asp and footer.asp files, but the number of clicks for ads in forums is very low, about 0.03%, so even if you have 50 active users all the time you would be lucky to make $50 a month from Google Ads.

Just a note (also to self ): put ads in header and footer, do not replace the ones already included in the software unless you make a purchase for the lisence key.

I know, if half of those are fully working versions of this forum, that is an extremley impressive achievement, even having 1 million people running your software is great, if you take half of that 3.9 as a reasonable, you are pushing on for 2 million websites running Webwiz.
Can I borrow your yaught for the weekend Borg?

Web Wiz Forums has only in total been downloaded 300,000 times, so I imagine the number of people running the software is probably much less.
If you do a search on google for link:http://www.webwizforums.com you will get a more accurate amount of people running web wiz forums which is 33,500

Even if something did happen (God forbid), you have the source code. You could continue supporting it yourself (or find someone to) if you had to. WWF does have a strong community, so mods and mutual support is available.
And its very easy to add AdSense.

And that doesn't count people who purchased a link removal key.
