I think people often get confused with the cheap prices for Virtual Private Server (VPS) Hosting and the higher prices for other types of Virtual Servers such as Cloud Servers.
With the cheap VPS hosting usually at prices below £20 you have a single install of the Operating System and then all the customers have a container on top of that single operating system and share all resources with other customers. Often performance and stability is a problem with this type of Virtual Server.
Other types of Virtual Servers based on Hypervisors such as Microsoft Hyper-V and VmWare you have your own dedicated resources. You have your own Diskspace with your own Operating System installed on it, your own dedicated memory and often your own CPU resources. These run in the same way as a dedicated server, but with the flexibility advantages of being in a Cloud environment. As you have dedicated resources this type of Virtual Server hosting is usually allot more expensive.
This is why you will find such a wide range of pricing between different types of Virtual Servers and why it is worth finding if resources are shared or dedicated.
Our Cloud Servers are based on the more expensive Virtual Servers using Microsoft Hyper-V where you have your own dedicated resources and not the cheaper shared resources of VPS hosting.
