its not difficult.. you botched the implementation

try uninstalling IIS, and then reinstalling it (there is nothing else to do!), and simply going to http://localhost should bring up like 2 windows welcoming you to IIS 5.0 (and yes, one of these is an .asp page)

I unistalled IIS and reinstalled it.  I was getting the 2 windows.  I had already patched this machine and when I uninstalled IIS and reinstalled and patched again it corrupted on of the windows because it won't come up now.
