I cannot open ASP pages from my IIS. It can open html pages, but can not open ASP pages. The "event viewer" says:

Event type: Error
Event origin: COM+
Event Category: Executive
Event ID: 4205
Date:  20/10/2003
Time:  13:42:22
User:  Not available
Computer: ARG-NOC0
Description:
The COM+ services could not be initiated due to an error in the system's API detailed below. Usually happens because of the lack of resources in the local machine.
CryptAcquireContext
Process name: dllhost.exe
Process ended because of severe error.
Error code = 0x80090017 : Provider type not defined.
COM+ services Internal Information:
File: .\security.cpp, Línea: 617

The text above was translated (from the original in spanish). Please, don't take it as a quote. TIA.

"Usually happens because of the lack of resources in the local machine."

are you sure your PC can handle IIS? The error sounds like your PC doesn't have enough ram or processing power...

It did until Friday (or so). It has been working as an IIS for 2 years (+ or -). Now, it stopped working.

1. reset IWAM_.*'s password

2. reset COM+-->IIS Out-Of-Process Pooled Applications -->IWaM_.*'s password

3.c:\Inetpub\AdminScripts>adsutil SET w3svc/WAMUserPass "yourpassword"

4.cscript c:\inetpub\adminscripts\synciwam.vbs -v

good luck
