Security Warning - Please Read
Allowing users to upload their own files and images requires that write and modify permissions are enabled on the upload directory. This can be a security issue as a hacker can use this to hack a web site. If you are concerned about security DO NOT ENABLE UPLOAD FEATURES!!


Maybe I missed it, but where does one enable/disable the images/files upload?

In the page Admin -> File and Image Upload Configuration

By default it is disabled, so it will only be available if you have enabled it in the page above and given users/groups permission to upload in forums using the permissions system.

Thanks borg.

for some reason, in the Admin -> File [...] Cfg I have no option to enable or disable uploads other than the avatar option.

I really want to avoid people uploading files/pictures through the forum.

From what I understand, its there, but the only way to avoid users to upload files is to play with the User Group Permissions. Is that correct?

As long as you haven't given any group or individual rights to upload files and images then it will be disabled.
