Just got a reply back from Robert (spellbound author) with a link to a
dev version of the FF .xpi file (after I asked him if I missed his
update). So far, so good! :) Jim
It
should auto update since the update rdf is set. I still have to update the
language packs, do a couple more things with the extension itself, add libraries
for SSE / SSE2 builds, and package the libraries for linux with proper
permissions before I will release this officially but below is a link to the dev
version that works with iframe WYSIWYG editors. I am unable to do the text
decoration of misspelled words (e.g. underlining, etc.) due to it modifying the
underlying html which would mess with the original content. Other than that it
works with iframe WYSIWYG editors.

Another update for Spellbound
The new release is out that includes this feature. The extension should auto-update as well.
Cheers, Robert
It updated fine for me through the extension manager. It shows as Spellbound 0.6.0

Sounds good, I'll have to look into how to intergrate it into the RTE for Firefox.
One thing though with ieSpell it can be called using from a button
using JavaSCript for the Editor, do you know or think the same can be
done with the Spellbound extension?

From Robert:
I haven't had a chance to look into
doing something like this yet but it probably can be done. I may have
time to look into this in the future but currently I have a couple of
other things I need to finish up with SpellBound like Mozilla Suite
support. The only issue I can think of off the top of my head is that
since it would be calling internal chrome there may be security issues
around this that would require the user to allow the script to launch
spellbound.

He just sent this info and link to me now:
BTW: There is an extension developer
page now at http://spellbound.sourceforge.net/dev.html that shows the
different ways to call up SpellBound which would help anyone trying to
script against it.
I hope this might help. :)

I'm still looking into using spellbound but as of yet I have not found
away of being able to detect if spellbound is installed and launch it
from a button on the RTE using JavaScript.
Do you have any ideas how it can be done?
Someway similar to how ieSpell is launched in IE would be ideal.

Hey boRg!
I've been a little disconnected lately from Hurricane Frances.
I've got some roof and ceiling and fence damage to repair after
insurance adjusters make it by (I've made some temporary patches but
they have to see it first). This is the first time I've been on
the forum since August 31. We had power out for 10 days, and
we've been staying at my mom's.
I'll have to ask Robert to see if he has any ideas on this. :)
