Well I have managed to screw up the 7.x-8 upgrade as much as humanly possible.  The only saving grace is that I have a backup of my original database.

I had error reports from the access_update.asp file, but I still went ahead and removed all 7x files from the server and upgraded to 8.  Then I was having trouble editing the database_connection.asp, so I just moved the database into the new folder, and it conflicted with the database on the server, blah blah, and after moving everything around due to frustration I have no f'ng clue where to go.

I am willing to pay for the link removal key again if it will save me the time and frustration of figuring out what went wrong.  So, I have my 7x database (dforumb.mdb) - is there an easy way to install the new 8 full version, connect it to my previous database, then pay for the link removal key again?  Any suggestions would be great, thanks.

Version 8 will not work with a 7.x database.

I would go back to your original 7.x database and have a go at the upgrade process again.

Try running the upgrade tool on your 7.x database, if you get an error let me know and should be able to findout where things are going wrong.

Also, if you made any modifications to your 7.x database, make sure you remove these first before attempting the upgrade.
