problem updating to 8.03

	I've tried upgrading my wwforum 7.92 to 8.03, the conversion with the access database upgrade tool works fine, i start the new version of the forum, but when i login as administrator i got the following error: Server Error in Forum Application An error has occured while writing to the database. Please contact the forum administrator. Support Error Code:- err_Access_loginUser()_update_login_attempts File Name:- functions_login.asp Error details:- Microsoft JET Database Engine The search key was not found in any record. any help is appriciated

	The problem means your Access database has become corrupted. Download your Access database, open in MS Access, then choose 'Compact and Repair Database' from the Tools menu.

	Thanks, but didnt work. Now it says that the password is wrong, but it isnt! If i use "forgot your password" i cannot generate a new password, because of course the mail server isnt yet configured. Support Error Code:- err_Access_send_mail_footer File Name:- functions_send_mail.asp Error details:- Microsoft VBScript runtime error ActiveX component can't create object How can i manually set the mail server? editing some code page or the database? Pls help :( EDIT: hum, i've just noticed i get the exact same error when i try to register a new user, it tries to send the confirmation mail but fails again...is the database still corrupted? 	This is the problem with Access, because it is not a real database, and simply a flat office desktop file it simply isn't up to the task of being the backend to a forum with more than a handful of hits per day. The only reason why it is supported on Web Wiz Forums is because people demand it, but it is hidden at the bottom of the download page and does have warnings NOT to use it if you possibly can because of this limitation. If compacting and repairing the database is not working, then sadly it looks like your Access database is not recoverable. You may need to start again, this time I would suggest to use the SQL Server or mySQL database backend, which are real database management systems and more than capable of handing many 1000's of simultaneous users.
