New Ad System Currently Being Tested on this Forum
Due to some issues with using Google Ads in Web Wiz Forums we will be
moving over to using our own ad system in Web Wiz Forums from version 8
which will be servered from our own servers.
The new ad system will be in both the Web Wiz Forums software and on each page of Web Wiz Guide.
We would like to get some feedback whether people would interested in
advertising in our ad system and the amount people would be willing to
pay?
Some stats that maybe useful
Web Wiz Forums currently serves over 250,000 ad impressions per day, 12
million per month, with over 6000 click throughs for last month across
15,000 sites.
Web Wiz Guide currently serves over 2.3 million pages per month.
Ad System Draft Setup
The system will use Text Ads and a 468x60 image depending on which the advertiser wants to use, as shown on this page (you may need to hit refresh a bit to get an image ad to load as their weightings are presently lower than the text ads).
On these ads there will also be a weighting system from 1 to 4, with a weighting of 4 being the most likely to show.

I said I wouldn't, but mostly because I don't have any websites currently that really fit your target audience. Although I am thinking about making some webmaster related websites in the future.
Question: Would this be for exclusive ads, or rotated with others?

I'm already running the new ad system in this forum to test the new system, so you can get an idea of how it looks and works, which is very simular to the Google one.

I've also made it more in keeping with Web Wiz Forums by having the same style border etc.
The colours can also be updated through Web Wiz Forums CSS skin file, which will make it simpler to integrate the ads into different skins.
Another plan which I am considering, once the ads are established is that if an ad gets clicked in a forum running on another site, the web master of that site will also receive some revenue from it.
This will make Web Wiz Forums even more appealing, as not only will it be free, but you will get paid for running it!!!

I didn't notice the switch until you mentioned it! I did notice how the colors nicely matched the forum, but I thought they were Google Ads!

No the Google Ads sucked when trying to get the colours right.
These new ads I borrowed some ideas from the Yahoo ads more than the Google ones and then came up with a simpler way to implement them along with better CSS styling.

I personally wouldn't pay for ads yet as none of the sites i maintain would have any benefit from advertising. This may not be true for the entire future and i'm sure their are users out there who would benefit from having their ads show up in Webwiz software. I like the idea and see it as a far more professional route of generating income, instead of Google earning all your revenue  If i was to research the types of sites that are using your software and if i had an intrest in the content of these sites and a website of my own to match then i wouldn't think twice about paying to have my ads on webwiz.
