After getting Authentication to work I noticed a couple of other things.

1) I can't log in as Admin when I have the authentication bit set for the forums.

2) I'm getting an error when I go to log in from one of my accounts:
Cannot insert duplicate key row in object 'tblAuthor' with unique index 'Username'.
3) We would want to use our NT groups on the forum, for instance, I'm in the "Technical Managment" group.   We should be able to set permissionson a web forum for "Technical management" as a group.
Anyone in that NT group would be able to see things in that forum.  Still need the Author as separate.

Also, on a related note, not being able to put users into more than one group really makes groups not so useful for us.

Product looks great.  If you can thoroughly integrate Windows Auth and Active directory groups, ect. you will have a real killer product.

The Windows Authentication feature is still very new and not yet fully matured, so could probably do with more work being done on it and feedback from users like yourself should help in the development of this feature.

As to your questions.

1. The admin area uses a separate login from Windows Authentication, what you will need to do is go to the page 'admin.asp' in your web browser and login with the default admin username and password, if this isn't already changed. Once you do this I would also set your own personal windows authentication account as an admin account by placing your forum membership in the admin group.

2. This sounds like one of your windows authentication usernames is the same as another one of your windows authentication usernames. Is this correct? If so could you let me know if it is common for more than 1 user to have the same username? At the moment the system can only have 1 user with a particular username.

3. I don't think that ASP is able to get the NT Usergroup details (please let me know if I am wrong). This means that auto placing users in forum groups based on NT Groups would not be possible, but once you login as the admin you can move members to different user groups within the forum system and create new user groups.

OK, found it, it is possible to get NT User Groups, so will have to look into integrating this somehow for future versions, although this would vastly complicate the setting up of this feature.
