Topic: TOO many images uploaded - performance problem Posted: 13 January 2007 at 11:53pm |
Hello,
I would like to move a lot of pictures from /uploads to /uploads/pics01 - could you please recommend me how do this?
I tried to link "thread" table in Access 2007 and made replace all text "/uploads" in field Message to text /uploads/pics01 - some text was replaced, but I still see /uploads/images.jpg links in forum post
Thank you!
PS Actually I have a lot of pictures uploaded and would like to optimize system...

I think the problem with the lack of response is the title isn't very good, what your asking is a database issue

I have been using WWF for years now (probably longer than just about everyone here) and having a ton of images on the server does not hurt the performance at all, and moving them to a different folder is not going to change a single thing!

Maddog, youŽll notice the problem, if you click the upload picture button. If you really got a tons of pictures in that folder, it will take ages for WWF to scan the folder. (I have several thousand pictures in the upload folder).
The fix I linked to above does the trix as WWF no longer scan the folder when opening the upload box.
