Hi Borg,

What do you have planned for the future of Newspad? Do you have any plans in giving it more blogging features like comments to articles, archiving old articles, etc?

I don't know about anyone else here, but I really like the Newspad app and am in the process of making it the front page of my site. I would though like to see more blog features in the future, as that is what I am mostly using it as.

Thanks!

It is very blog like at the moment, but people said they didn't want blog like features.

It's such as adding comments to news items would need to wait for version 2 as it would require database changes to add such features.

There isn't even a schedule date to begin development of version 2 yet, let alone a schedule date to complete it.

The version 1.x branch will continue at least into the first quarter of 2008.

There are plans over the next coming few months to release improved versions of the current NewsPad 1.x and Web Wiz Forums 9.x branches, that include programming API's to interact both with each other and so developers can also develop their own applications and web sites which will be able to interact with the software.

There are also plans to do some usability testing with NewsPad 1.x to make it easier to use and understand.

No response so I'll just start posting my issues here until told to do otherwise.

1. Why do the email recipients need to log in to unsubscribe? We added 1000 members to our database through import so they don't know their passwords. The people I've talked to found it quite annoying to go through the password retrieval process just to get off the list. Most people are used to a simple 1 step unsubscribe process.
Is there a way around this?
