    Posted: 13 August 2008 at 4:02pm
I just installed the forums (access Version).
everything is working great, but I can't change the admin Password. I log in and go to my profile. I fill in the new password and then the old password and I get this Error:

Only members with sufficient permission can access this page.

and it takes me to the login page. Ok, so I login, again, now I get this error:

Your login was un-successful due to a session tracking error.
Please ensure that cookies are enabled on your web browser and you are not hiding or masking your IP address.

I tried resetting and deleteing all my cookies, but I still can't change it. HELP!!!

Thanks.

Sounds like your forum is not holding the session.

Do you see a long SID= number in the URL?

Sounds like then the server you are on has problems holding the ASP session or you are using load balanced servers.

To fix this issue open in notepad the file includes/setup_options_inc.asp and change it to store the session in the database rather than the web servers memory:-

Const blnDatabaseHeldSessions = True

Have you tried reuploading the files yet incase it is a corrupted file?

You can also update the username and password for the account through the Members page within the admin area.

Tried copying that again, no luck.

I went into the admin section and clicked on the Administrtor user, it took me to the page that you can edit a profile or ad a new user. It didn't populate any of the fields so when I tried to create a new login it gave me an error say that use already existed.

Do you have a link to your web site to have a look to see what the issue is?
