Topic: Admin Access Denied? Posted: 11 April 2003 at 7:42pm |
Hello,
I am getting an error : "Access Denied Sorry, only members with sufficient permission can access this page. "
I am a 100% sure I am logged with my admin account and password and I am also getting the admin link and button displayed.
What could be the problem ? I have had a look inside the database to make sure that my account is in the admin group and it is !
Any suggestions ?
Thanks

try www.whateveryoururlis.com/yourforumdirectory/admin and try logging on from there with your admin account.

So I'm having the same problem, same error. I used the admin login and I got in fine and setup the forums. But now my users are getting the same error durring registering. So I tried registering and I get error to, I've tried three diffrent boxes none of which worked.

Make sure that members are going through the previous registration rules page and not linking straight to the register page.
Also the ASP session ID is used in authentication, this should remain the same value until the user leaves the site, shuts their browser, or the ASP session is restarted.
Make sure your users have session cookies enbaled on their browsers.
If there is still problems then it could be problems with the web server, and that the server keeps restarting or resetting itslef, thuse reseting the session ID, which is why you would see this error.

I know they are coming from the correct registration page.
And cookies have been enbaled.
So I'm guessing it would have to be the session ID problem. How would I fix this problem? The server is running asp and coldfusion would that be part of the problem?
Thanks so much
