hai,
Good Work Guys, I joined a year before when i was a new to the forum and it required me an year to me get deeply in the field of developer.
Now My Suggestions is why not you develop the same forum in PHP/MY SQL , As We See there a lot forums now developing under the unix platforms, coz they are cheaper than windows.
Most of them use Forums Like PHPBB, IBP Etc .
My Suggestions is to develop the same Board under PHP, so that this forum can also be used by many using PHP.
I Hope My Suggestion May Be Considered And Steps may be taken in developing an new Board For PHP users too in world.
Thanx
Vinoth

There are a lot of good PHP forums and very few good ASP forums. Why duplicate the efforts on yet another PHP board when you can have you one of the best ASP boards? Why not ask the PHP guys to develop and ASP version of their board? A lot of ASP hosts also provide PHP and MySQL so the choice is no longer between ASP and PHP, but between what is the best board for the project and how well can you integrate it into the overall web site.

if a webdeveloper knows how to program in ASP using Access and MSSQL, it doesn't mean he knows how to do the same with PHP and MySQL
and it will take months, maybe years to do it, and I don't think Bruce have the time for that..
sorry, but it was a really bad idea

Well What i meant is developer in mean towards bussiness too,
we have good forums in php too , and in asp i think this is one, when have to find market we have to see the people choice too,
When U see towards hosting PHP is cheap and people rather get into it, and use the board which is compatible to their hosting.
So Better to win the game, why not try where there is a lot of hope for a great deals of bussiness.
I mean is Developing the forum in PHP Too,
It is just an Sugesstion

Having to maintain and debug two code bases is a horror show. As noted above, the PHP forum market is saturated. The ASP market is dominated by WWF.
Why put all the time and effort in to enter the PHP market where you're just one of the crowd when that same time and effort could ensure that you continue to dominate the ASP world?

I'm not sure if you understood me:
Bruce is a good ASP programmer. He is not a PHP programmer. Bruce has developed this ASP forum over almost 3 years, do you think he could make it as good as this in PHP in under 3 years? And, as dpyers said, If he should continue developing of both versions, it would be hell alot of work. He don't have the time for it

after visited your site, I see you are not that kind of person who wants to spend money on hosting. Is that the reason why you want this in PHP? because you can't find proper free ASP hosts but good free PHP hosts?
if thatæ's the case, you should either give up on this ASP thing and move to PHP or pay the small money it costs to host your website with a professional host
