Could someone explain the difference between the following, 100 MB MySQL Database and 50MB SQL Server 2000. My host offers both packages.

Also i use web wiz forums and was wondering if the SQL version would run on 100 MB MySQL Database?

WWF will not run on MYSQL server, however it will run on MSSQL. MySQL does not support ASP aswell as MSSQL does. MySQL is considered faster but it has less features and no support for Stored Procedures.

If you use ASP you should really go for MSSQL, if you use PHP then go for MySQL as PHP has built in support for MySQL.

I use all ASP so it looks like MSSQL. Any ideas if WWF will be released to run on MySQL in the bear future or any plans to do so?

On the help side...

MySQL will work very well with ASP. That is not a problem.

MySQL being faster... not sure with the current build... But I doubt it. MySQL has traditionally been used heavily for web applications, where MSSQL has been used for all manner of DB applications, online and offline.

MYSQL being a real RDBMS... I've heard that it's been upgraded, but dont' really care to look into the specifics at the moment. That could be false. MSSQL is a true RDBMS, which guarantees that your data will be referentially intact if you practise decent design.

I'd go for MSSQL because it is well supported, documented, reliable, and just nice to use. MySQL I find a bit obtuse and I absolutely hate the way it handles dates when used with ASP.

Just my 2 cents.
