I got the LivePerson trial, but the actual thing starts at $100 per
month! Fairly expensive, any alternatives? I did make my
own a while back, but it will need a lot more work to get it working
with the now more popular Netscape browsers.

I don't provide live help, but the stuff they use at Rackspace.com is pretty good - don't know what it is though...

A friend of mine bought a chat program done in PHP, MySQL, and Flash for $5.00. He said it was about the best $5 he ever spent.
The program is called "FlashChat".

pipey's chat is another flash chat - freeby but I don't think it had logging.
The nice thing about help apps instead of chat is the canned responses
and most of them allow an email to be sent if you're off line.
