Hi Borg, Could you PLEASE remove the google ads, or just place them at the bottom instead of the top. This was my favourite forums package, and if the ads stay, im going to have to look somewhere else (Which I dont really want to do)

From looking at the stats Google ads at the top are 200% more likely to be clicked on that those at the bottom.
I know people don't like the ads, but that's the whole idea, so that you are encouraged to purchase a license key if you want to remove the ads.
This is the only viable Business Model that will ensure the present level of support and future development of the product (and continual funding from creditors).
It's either that or drop the free version altogether and only have paid versions of the software.
Like they say, there's no such thing as a free lunch, and at the end of the day, someone has to cover the costs. In this case hosting, support, and development, which is a full-time job of over 80 hours a week.

I know using the Google ads has upset a small number of users who have said they will no-longer use the software.
This is a shame, but needs must, and the ads are hear to stay.
Stats show that the tread in usage of Web Wiz Forums has actually grown since their introduction in 7.95 in October last year, and the number of users who have moved away because of the ads is so low that it's affect is not noticeable.
The Google ads in the software are not only making a small amount of revenue to make having the free version viable, but the sales of license keys has also risen as a result.

Daniel,
If you don't like the Ads just buy a link removal code. I did. The price isn't to high and you get life time upgrades.
Or change forum software, but most forum software costs a lot. Its easier and cheaper to stick with Web Wiz Forums

People don't understand the costs of running a website, let alone developing software - not only the cost on your wallet, but also the cost on your personal and social life.
Like Borg has mentioned, the Google Ads are the least intrusive and most viable way of creating a small amount of revenue to cover the time and money put into the development of the forums.
Unlike other forums, Borg isn't making you pay for the use of his software, and like everywhere nowadays, if you pay for a service, you get more than the free version - in this case, adverts and WWF / WWG links removed.

I also posted about this, and boRg explained to me why he added ads. It pays boRg well. He works very hard to provide you with this wonderful FREE software. If he doesn't have ads, it could possibly make a threat to the software. How would you like boRg to stop development of the forums and not even release 8.0? I bet a lot of people would be mad. Plus, Google Ads is safe. It's not like he's adding spyware, or thousands of pop ups. The ads relate to your website. If you don't like them, then buy the software. It's only like $50 or $60 roughly USD. Come on, support boRg. He's doing an excellent job.

£30 for what, in my opinion, is the easiest to use, best looking, fastest and least bug-ridden forum software of them all. Is not really alot to ask. ...and thats for a lifetime plus upgrades ..and with the beta release of V8 showing an amazing improvment. you'd have to be mad to move away. Either stick with the ads or buy a link/ad removal key for next to nothing.

Me too. The tiny cost of the removal code (and let's face it, it really is cheap) is more than worth it to use this software. It still amazes me that the Software is free (and the Ad removal so cheap). There are not many people who would do so much work for so little financial reward.
