with the coming release of 8.0 i thought i'd fool around with MySQL a little.  i've downloaded version 5, and see it running in Component Manager (xp pro).  My question:  even tho. i'm having trouble logging in, yet i can ping it, what tool(s), like EM for MSSQL, does one use for this.   recomendations are more than welcome.

I purchased a copy of SQLyog, and must say that along with mySQL Administrator, you can do everything you need to within mySQL.

The way I do it, but requires access to the server, is to simply copy the data folder for the database in question from one mySQL intence to another.

i this particular case i don't have access to the data folders, still trying stuff tho.  i would think we'd need to sort this one out as i expect others to experience this.
