I need some advice because I am interested in purchasing SQL Server 2000 for my computer. I am only going to use it to work with SQL Servers on certain web sites. I will be the only one who will be using it on my computer. Do you recommend Developer Edition, Standard Edition, or something else?

Just get developer edition. you don't need the full blown version for developing scripts.

Right, you get the Dev Edition (same as Enterprise with some license limitations) for $65 at some vendors.

a google for "SQL Server 2000 developer edition" turns up some prices around $40.

Got mine from MS site. IRC, took 2-3 days to get it. Comes with Enterprise Manager which alone is worth the price. Also comes with the Books Online docs for SQL2K and deployment license for any MSDE apps you may develop.

I use a trial version. It lasts something like 120 days... but i always format my drive before then so its like having a full version without paying for it hahahha

Just make sure you download service pack 3b for sql server if it doesn't come with the ebay one.
