Been running the Forum for almost 2 years now, things have been working great.
About 2 months ago, moved the forums to a new URL.

Now on occasion - sometimes doesn't happen for a day or two, sometimes happened a couple times a day, when someone is posting, they get the

Access Denied

page. Strange thing is, if they go back to the main forum page, they are still logged in.
Problem is tho, they've lost whatever they typed in and that upsets them.

Try upgrading to the latest 9.69 version and see if that solves the issue.

Hate to be a bug here, but is there specific files I could update?
I have made changes in some of the files and would rather not overwrite them. Embarrassed

It's usually the changes to the files that breaks the forum in the first place and thus courses these types of error, so you should replace all files with original files from the latest release and see if that fixes the issue.

Rather than a possible bug, do you think this may have something to do with the moving of the forum to a different URL?
When you say that, did you move the whole site to another provider? or just rename the URL and load the forum from the database on the same server?

Just to confirm what you meant by the new URL

Sorry.
Same provider, same database, same domain name, different folder.

By default cookies are set to the URL including path (folder) name. By moving the forum to a different folder the cookie names will remain the same but the cookie path will change. Some browsers will have difficulty with this.

There are some things you can do. You can edit the cookie path setting it to the website root by editing in notepad the file includes/setup_options_inc.asp.

You should also tell members to clearout their cookie cache on their browsers to allow them to load the new cookies for the changed folder path.

Upgrading to 9.69 should also help as there was a bug fix to help with posting when members did not have cookies enabled. This was changes to files in the includes folder and forum_posts.asp.
