I have a merchant account with paypal. I am going to start selling stuff on my site. However the surcharge is confusing me slightly. I know they have a surcharge of 3-4% for merchant accounts.

However is the surcharge subrtracted from the order or added on top of the order?

are you asking if the buyer pays the surcharge or if you pay the surcharge?

The charge is subtracted from the total.
If the sell something for $5, you get $4.54. That's $5 - 2.2% - $.35.
