i have the newsletter programe but i am having mega problems here is just one of them 

Microsoft JET Database Engine error '80040e09'

Cannot update. Database or object is read-only.

/email/mailing_list/sign_up.asp, line 234

for some reason most of the codes are missing from what i can see i dont understand asp that much so i cannot realy say can any one help me please

this is because the databnase is in a folder that is read only, not read/write

also make sure the database is the same

You need to set Read/Write permissions to the folder the database is in. Also if this is for a Web Wiz Guide app, you need to post in the Web Wiz Support Forums next time.

i have checked all of the permissions and there is no problem there and i have even given the database a complete direction to where to find it it worked for 5 secs a minute ago but now its not working again

Permissions need to be set on the server itself for the IUSR account giving Read, Write, and Modify, permissions to the folder the database is within.

You may need to get your host to set these permissions for you.

i have checked that and they have redone my permissions but still i get when i try to sign up this note 

Server object error 'ASP 0177 : 800401f3'

Server.CreateObject Failed

/email/mailing_list/functions/functions_send_mail.asp, line 245

800401f3

and i get the same sort of thing going all the way through the programe
it worked for five seconde a little bit ago i added one catagory but then when i tried to add another one i got the same simaler code problems even though i didnt change a thing

ok so i have got it all working the only problem i have is sending the messages and i do not know what Web address path (URL) to mailing list application is could anyone tell me that please
