i have WinXP Pro and i have wot ever IIS is on that...
but i can never write to a Database...
i can read from it, just not add or update it!
can sumone tell me HOW i do it?

You need to have write permissions on the directory containing the database.
There is a tutorial for this in the FAQ's in the ASP section of this site, it isn't written for XP Pro but it is very much the same you just need to turn off simple file sharing from 'Folder Options' in the 'Control Panel' first.

its how i learn!
its ok on my server... just when i test it all on my computer locally in IIS it doesnt work! (does now though )
hopefully now i can test the forum locally 2!

yeah thanks
id never "mess" with my server 
and i dont do anyfin i *think* will damage my computer (ie "delete")
and i was only messin in the IIS comtrol pannel ... am sure if i screw it up i can re install it 
but on my computer windows is in c:\windows\
but if ya ment sumfin else, dunno about it as i dont go on C Drive much

i've seen it all: smashed keyboards, coffee in keyboards, a monitor that was "broken in" with a baseball bat, peanut butter in the cd ROM drive, floppies put in backwards, and heck, even somebody that got their cat stuck in a tape drive...
