Problem activating account

New users are suddenly getting the following message when they click the activation email that they receive after registering:

 

There is a problem activating your membership.

I have no idea where to look to see what might be happening.  I have not changed anything in the forum setup anytime recently to cause this.

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

What version are you using?

Also are their memberships actually getting activated?

I am using v7.01.  I don't think the membership is getting activated.  I checked the profile of one person who emailed me and the Active flag was set to No.

So it's as if it's not completing that process.  I tried the activation link that was in the email sent to her and that's when I saw the error message as well.

Maybe upgrading to the new version as there is an option to resend the activation email.

You should also upgrade due to security bugs in previous versions.
