Does web wiz forum do auto backup?

I sometimes see a backup file in my datebase folder. Is it automatically created by the forum itself ? I did not use compact function. Does it mean something ?

no. It's not that file. I mean the file mentioned in compact database: "If the 'Compact and Repair' procedure fails a backup of your database will be created ending with '-backup.asa' . But actually I didn't do the compacting. I've no idea where the file comes from.         & nbsp;  And sometimes when I see the ldb file, my forum gets very slow, I have to shut down the forum to wait for the ldb file disapper and restart the forum, the speed is quick again.
