i really dont think that sql server comes with windows 98.. maybe msde but then you need something to administer it with.. create a database where you can install your tables and stored procedures, but i dont know of any program to do it with..

if you can install windows 2000 or xp pro, you can install the .net framwork and use this tool to administer your MSDE server.. but it wont work on windows 98 because its written in .net and the .netframwork will not run on windows 98..

There is a tool you can use to administer MSDE databases. It is called DBAMGR2k

Should help you on Windows 98 as well.. Not really sure though!!

Have a look for MSDE(a free but functional version of MSSQL) on your microsoft office disk if you have it or you can download it for free here: http://www.asp.net/msde/default.aspx?tabindex=0&tabid=1 (that link also has installation instructions)

Mart.
