A manual process would be to create a dummy user with a password, go into the database and write down that password and the salt value. If a user contacts you of a fogotten password you change his pass and salt to the forgotten one and tell him his temporary signin. Once he did that he can change his pass again. I know that is cumbersome but I am sure, if a solution is not going to be implemented, there will be a mod for that once the final is out. Remember, it is still beta. |
If a user contacts you of a forgotten password you can simply change their password by using the "Edit Profile" feature without going thru all that hassle....

Yes, and you can send a email where you tell the temp password and warn the user to change it after he/she logs in.

It is in version 7.
If a user contacts you to say they have forgotten their password then all you need to do is edit their profile and change their password to a new one.
Not really that difficult.
