Take a look at the script that grabs last month visitor in the mod. Here is the SQL string:

I think your observation is not not correct.

The way last visit date is stored in db it is only possible to show total number of members visited today and this month and this year

and

total number of member in yesterday/last year we are missing. That is, some members visited some day ago but after that they didn't visit the site. This mod counts and categorizes this members and shows the count.

It is not possible WITHOUT modifying the database to count the members visited in a day/month other than today. And some members prefer not to modify db.

If you ask for db modification, that will become a statistics mod with a great deal of bargain on the db.

And the mod says,

Members visited: Today 4, total 7 on this month Members: StarDust, Guardian, Jeet Chowdhury, fireball Members we are missing: 3 members yesterday, 54 on the previous month who didn't come back till now.

Where in the mod you found it says total number of members visited yesterday?
