Need good online retailer in England

ebuyer.co.uk apperas to be good, lots of products, nice web site, but it just went offline, maybe maintenance.

Novatech.co.uk is a bit unreliable, first the site was giving out errors on adding items to the cart, then, when I decided to checkout, I registered, and only then it told me the delivery options, which the soonest was in 8 days and that was at a premium price, so I just didn't order, and now requested for my registration to be deleted.

Microdirect.co.uk haven't registered yet, but the cart behaved well, they only list one of my favourite hard drives (Samsung SpinPoint) and it's out of stock, not a great deal of choice on the other components aswell.

Overclockers.co.uk is another good UK retailer, but they specialise in quality products only, so not a great deal of choice, but they are good, and deliver.

More retailers needed, and tell me about your experiences with them, delivery options and all that.

I don't mean to laugh at you losing money - it's just that your post basically reads like, "Hi - I'm looking for someone to give my money to. Can you recommend anyone?" It's just SOOOOOO funny! Especially about not wanting the cheapest!

Now - really, I totally see your point. When I want something, I don't look for the cheapest - I look for what best suits my needs. I'd rather spend a few extra bucks in a clean place or for some extra convenience. But it's just... well...

I complained to Trading Standards, and they are investigating, so it may take a while.

I have still not found a good retailer, scan.co.uk seams alright, will try to order a few things from them, to see how it goes.

The problem with the missing deliveries are all down to which courier company they use, if they use Royal Mail, chances are you won't get your goods, I knew a few people who worked there, and some of the mail guys that come by the company I work for to collect the mail, we sometimes talk about how they get way by not delivering someone elses goods and they take it home for them, funny thing is is, they get away with it, Royal Mail, investigates, but gives up quickly, and the thieve is rarely caught, other people I knew worked directly at the distribution center, this guys were selling new boxed laptops at £200 a go, they must have got lots of them, imagine how many people didn't receive their brand new laptop? This is a Royal Mail problem because they don't filter how they employ. The same don't happens with other divisions like Parcel Force, City Link, and other companies.

My missing goods were "supposed to be carried" you guessed it, by Royal Mail, Dabs used to use Parcel Force, but not are using Royal Mail, bad choice, so as a piece of advice, if you are in the UK, don't buy from a retailer that will use Royal Mail to send goods to you, you might aswell pay £3/5 more, to be other courier but in the end you'll get your goods.

Yeah, if your camera don't arrive with 1 week or 2, someone at Royal Mail must be taking nice pictures with it.

I will now always ask for the goods to be delivered by other couriers, Royal Mail stinks.

Picture this one, the Police a few years back stopped me on the road and took my driving licence by mistake (they thought something was wrong with it, when in fact it was fine) they then appologised, and posted it to me. Guess what? Royal Mail lost it, so after a few letters, they compensated me in £35 (their max for that kind of post), and to ask for a new driving license costed me more than that.
