If this is a new forum kaz then lets start again and make sure everything goes better this time.
The instructions are here, but lets go through it step by step
I would do this:
Create your database first by going into your control panel (with whoever you host with) and create a new MySQL database, and create a user and the password
Next - download the web wiz software
Then, upload the forum folder and all its sub folders just as they are
Then, go back into your administration on your hosting, and check that the database folder has read and write permissions
If they do, then type into your browser www.mywebsite.com/forum/
This is an example web address only!
It should then come up with this page:
It will be a new installation so click the new installation
And then
just follow the rest of the instructions from point 9 onwards
