DNS info for hosted forums... outgoing mail serve?

Hi All,
 
I just setup the hosted forums service.  I own my domain and am running my own DNS and so in the hosting control panel, I disabled the DNS.
 
In the forum control panel, under email settings the outgoing smtp server is set to mail.mydomain.. but I don't know what to set mail.domain to resolve to in my dns zone.
 
Any ideas?

The DNS and email settings are setup for you when we install the hosted service for you. You should not change any of these settings even if you are running your own DNS.

If you have then contact support as we will need to re-setup this up for you again.

By the way you may find that you actually get better DNS response times by using our own DNS servers as we use 3 DNS servers located in both the UK and US on low latency connections.

Since I run several domains, it is just easier for me to run all the dns the same way.
 
What are the default records created for your dns?  Is there an a record for mail.?  ftp.?

On the FTP part, I am trying to upload files to the site... I created an FTP account in the control panel, but don't know where to FTP to.

Please could you fill out a support ticket regarding these issues as we will need to resetup any DNS and emails settings for you as even if you do use your own DNS these settings still need to be setup on our systems for your account to work properly.
