I just bought an Olympus Camedia C450 about a month ago. The price was equivalent to USD250 -- after discount, of course. It's a 4.0 megapixel digital camera and as far as photo quality goes, it's a good one to have.

I've a very terrible expierence with HP Digital camera 612 C (~$350), it is very very very bad.
Flash is useless, Resolution is to bad, picture is pixlated... no video capture. it is nothing if compared to Samsung or Fuji.

i got a hp photosmart 735, i can't complain about it, the big advantage of hp is that they are really easy to use, not a milion button that do nothing, they bateries last a long time, runs fine on a linux box , here is a pic i took a while ago

alas i got one to speak in favour of HP..
well technically speaking digital camera can never shoot picstures to a quality of a manual camera but shooting quality pics with digital cam is more of a game of adjusting MV ratios and proper lighting.. and as long as u dont know the basics of handling a igital cam.. u will never be able to shoot pictures properly regardless how expensive digital cam u use..
i have shot some really good quality pics from a cheap pocket camera of about a cost of $30 USD..thinking that the more expensive digital camera u buy, the better results it would yield is just wrong...
