Ok, let me preface this post first by saying I am not expecting ANY official support on this question!!  I realize I'm asking about a a beta test version of software.  I'm just wondering.

Has anyone else installed the Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 beta yet?  I installed it, then had to uninstall it.  For some reason it does  not like the Web Wiz Forums, nor the Web Wiz HTML editor.   It doesn't refresh the screen when you delete or move text.  It's really wierd, and it's not just my website.  It did it here too.  Normal textarea boxes work just fine.  I'm guessing something in the Javascript isn't playing nice with the browser at this stage.

Has anyone else tried it?  And if so, has anyone figured out what causes that?  My only fear is that they'll release IE 7 and that will be a permenant bug.

Again, by no means am I expecting an official reply.  Just wondering.

If you can let me know where I can get a copy of IE 7 beta from then I will test this to see if this issue can be fixed, or findout why it is occuring.

I can write programmes (.exe files) and from what you are describing and basic Google searched it appears that Microsoft has entirely recoded the browser control, including text areas.... This may be conflicting with RTE's. I will try and find out some more info.

I've had a quick play around with IE7 now, and it seems at first glance to be much better than previous versions (much more compliant)

I've checked the Web Wiz RTE (not the forum one yet) and it seems to be working OK for many items, but now that they have cleaned up the code, etc. produced by the built in IE RTE API, it looks like I will have to make a few changes for IE7, to change or remove some or all of the work arounds I had to implement to get around all the bugs that IE 6 had.

I must take back my last comment.

On using IE7 a bit more it's still as buggy as ever and it's RTE API still produces some of the worst HTML code I have ever seen. It's now even worse!!

On the Web Wiz RTE it uses slightly different code to the RTE for this forum, and it seems some sort of bug in IE RTE API means that for some reason often the contents of the RTE is displayed incorrectly and updates incorrectly on this forum.

I hope this is a bug that IE will sortout, otherwise work arounds maybe hard to develop.

Judging by the amount of complaints on the internet from doing Google Searchs that it is most likely an IE bug.

We will just have to wait. But for now I am sticking with Firefox
