It has happened to may multiple times. It's the right type of saved image: ".jpg" but it claims it's not. The way I've tried to go around it is by bringing up the image on my screen, ctrl+screen, paste it onto MS Paint and crop it then save it again as .jpg and it works.

But another member on the forums also pointed out that they can't upload an AVY that's .jpg for the same issue I'm bringing up. Is there anything that we're missing as to why it's doing this?

For example:

It looks like there is an issue with the case of the .jpg extension. It should be case sensitive, but you may have found a bug.

boRg, doesn't WWF reads the file and just not the extension to determine the file type?

I have done some testing and the upload extension check is not case sensitive so that shouldn't matter.

Yes there are checks done on the structure of the file as there are some XSS hacks in some browsers where you can discuss malicious code within a file of a different type.

Thanks for looking into it. Hopefully it may be something that you can fix and not that much of an issue.

From my experience if there is anything wrong in the image, doesn't matter whatever extension it is, WWF define the uploaded image is of a wrong file type.

Even with WWF v9.04 I had this message while uploading a picture of Fleece Jacket for a Factory profile. The image had the extension .JPG but it was not JPG or GIF or PNG. to say exactly it was bad formatted JPG. So, WWF generated the error.

So, from my experience, it is not or never a bug. But I am sure boRg will define what it is more perfectly.

-XIV- you can use a graphics converter to convert your image to JPG and then upload it. Hopefully, you won't see any error message. Do not use Photoshop/Firefox. It's an editor, not a converter. I didn't have proper results from them.

I use 'IrfanView' to convert images. www.irfanview.com - it's free and tiny.

boRg, I thing in case of bad structured image is found while uploading, you should consider using a better descriptive text string with the error message.

I got the same problem. Trying to upload a PDF-file, and get the same error.
I have v.9.06

Is there a fix for this?
