I got a promotion when I bought my dell a while back. It was for a free version of Vista when it came out. So I went ahead and took advantage of the offer and ordered my free upgrade to Vista software. I installed it a while back and it gave me so many problems that I just reformatted and re-installed XP pro. Now that some of you guys are speaking so wonderful about Vista, I wanted to try it again. Unfortunately for me, Windows only allows me one install. And Bill Gates wonders why so many people steal his software.

So frustrated because I was only allowed "1" install, I went the Linux route. I installed Ubuntu and everything worked wonderful, except I can't get Ubuntu to recognize my wireless card in my laptop. Searched around and tried every single fix and nothing worked. If I could get internet to work on Linux, I would leave microsoft behind for good. But it won't work so I'm stuck with XP

...what version of Ubuntu do you have? I would have thought that problem was fixed by now.

Not really. Most everything on my network is wired. Try these two links. There should be helpful information to solve your problem. Two articles on how to get wireless to work with ubuntu.

I hope this helps.

Thanks for the links. I gave the first one a try already before and didn't work for me, but I'm going to give the second one a try.
