Topic: MOD Help: Portal with v8 (no download yet) Posted: 17 April 2006 at 1:48am |
|
Ever since the first beta of wwf v8 came out i have been going through all the code to check out the improvements done. And well done job by Bruce (aka -boRg-).
Im going to start a new portal from the ground up. My goal is to create the best portal system anyone has ever seen and make the backend based off v8.
I do not plain to charge for this portal like i have in previous versions, so i am asking here to anyone that might want to help in these early developement stages. I should have a verson online soon, maybe within the next few days.
Right now i am coding a bases for a "module" system where people can easly create their own modules of code and make it all simple as possible for new comers to web wiz forum coding.

Way to go Maddog, Basing the best portal on the best forum software is a great idea, i've always liked your work and think whatever you come up with will be cracking. I'm not a great coder but i'm always willing to test things to the death and blow up my local server to find bugs etc so if ya need any help on that then let me know

I will admit that i never have used your portal before, the reason for this is because i run a charity website which has less than £0 budget, so far everything purchased for the site (WWG forum and mailing list license and all domains, serverspace etc) is payed for by me with any money coming in going into events etc. I'm going to have a browse round your current site right now P.S. regarding your coding with webwiz and -boRg-'s code, i know i've been using your mods for about 5 years lol

get_up,
Ever since i started coded portals ive done tons of research on security. I also use the latest version of Web Wiz Forum and all its built in security features to make sure people can not hack or the portal or deface it.
