Hi
I have just relocated my exsisting webwiz forum to another windows server that has all the required components installed - apparently!

Everything's ok apart from the cdonts object is not running properly. If a member has an email sent when someone replies to his/her post in the forum the following error occurs:

Server object error 'ASP 0177 : 800401f3'

Server.CreateObject Failed

/hollysforum/functions/functions_send_mail.asp, line 153

800401f3

Apparently this is not the object I should be using as it's the 2000 version where my new hosting server is using 2003. How do I get round this, do you have an update I can overwrite the file with for the later email object. I'm not really a developer and really don't want to lose the posts to date.

Thanks in advance

it maybe a corrupt file.

i would recommend try CDOSYS instead of CDONTS as its not supported by Microsoft anymore.

also CDOSYS is the upgrade from CDONTS. as is more reliable and works a lot better.

apart from that im not sure what be the problem, it looks like from th eerror message that the CDONTS component is not installed on the webserver.

uif your on a Windows 2003 server, CDONTS is not installed by defauly. so unless the host installed it, it wont be on the system , as said try CDOSYS if possible.
