nobody in their right state of mind would spend as much time as borg and maddog do to enhance the applications and provide support for free. other people could try to do it free but they would not spend as much time or keep quality up to as high standards as borg or maddog. no need for harsh language. sit back and think that they do this as a job but also because they like sharing their expertise and giving you high quality asp applications and portals.
P.S. Many php apps require purchase. You should know that.

I see. I don't support evildoers, either.
Well, you should've told me on the first post instead of bluntly deleted it (if you did).

Many might require purchase but not most, or not as many as ASP applications. If you choose ASP you are faced with other costs that you don't find with PHP. IIS and MSSQL are not as affordable *wink, wink* as MySQL and Apache, compare ASP/MSSQL and PHP/MySQL hosts. "Us" ASP supporters already pay a higher price for ASP. Why pay for applications that can be free or why not support the development of future free applications like (maybe) a free and better Portal for WWF?
Do you think the people that write Post Nuke, PHP Nuke, or even phpBB spend less time to produce, enhance, and support their applications than MadDog or Borg? Keep in mind that all those applications are free and are in no way inferior to what MadDog and Borg produce.
Lets keep ASP as free as we can.

Why shouldn't people get paid for their hard work? Should Microsoft give away their software as well? Wake up and smell the coffee...this is the real world. If some people want to give things away for free, fine. If others want to charge for QUALITY products, fine. If you don't like it, write your own Portal and give it away...after you finish putting in about 500 hours of work you may change your mind...

boyohboy, I did not delete anything, that's why I said I don't know what you are talking about.
MadDog is the only one allowed to re-package wwg applications together with his portal. He sells it and gives a share to bruce. Whoever wants to make a portal needs to know that you cannot package the wwg applications with it so you could only provide your code and give dl links for the apps. There has been a big discussion about it and that is just the way it is. Make a portal for yourself, this is a learning experience, not to copy someones code.

GODDAMNIT, I just wrote a freaking long post and hit submit and got "only sufficicient members..." If I wasn't sufficient a member enough, the freaking "Post Reply" wouldn't have been avail for me to type in the first place, would it? Click "Back" and everything was lost! So distraught at the moment.
