I am trying to use web wiz forums for the first time.

The check boxes are not even SHOWING UP for any of the group administration permissions.

IS this something that must be paid for?

I have tried installing 3 different times, from 2 different Web Wiz downloads (SQL Server version) with ZERO results.

The whole table row that should be showing the check boxes is missing, but the headings are showing up!

Thanks for any help

This is very odd, on what page in the admin section are you getting this problem?

Also, make sure the forum is uploaded correctly using FTP.

Again, please say what page this is happening on so that it can be looked into?

There are a number of pages a ways in the admin area to set permissions and without knowing what page you are getting this issue on it's hard to advise you.

admin_group_details.asp  does not work
admin_group_permissions.asp does not work
admin_user_permissions.asp is OK

Have you setup and created forums?

If not then this will be the problem as you need to have created forums to set permissions on.

I didn't think that this could be a problem as being the writer of the software it just seemed obvious to me that to set permissions on forums you needed to have forums to do this on.

However, I have updated the code for the these pages for next version so that if no forums exist on the permissions page it gives a message informing the user that they need to create a forum first before setting permissions.

Thanks, that was the issue. I was just assuming I was setting it for the group, and that the forum level would inherit it. I realized it the night I posted.

THANKS

I've just migrated from Access to MySQL using the MySQL Migration Tool and everything appears to be working (so far) apart from the group permissions admin pages. When Itry to update any permissions I get this message.

Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80004005'
[MySQL][ODBC 3.51 Driver][mysqld-4.1.7-nt]You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual
that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'Read=0 AND
Post=0 AND Reply_posts=1 AND Edit_posts=1 AND Delete_posts=1 AND Prio' at line 1
/bulletinboard/admin_group_permissions.asp, line 141

Any ideas or suggestions?

This seems to be a bit off topic now.

There is no official migration tool so I don't know what migration tool you are reffering to, so it maybe hard to say what is wrong.

However, the SQL error mentions 'Read=0' which is no-longer used as this doesn't work in mySQL so make sure you are running the latest 8.03 version of this file.
