i have a forum working in phpbb (www.phpbb.com).
I´d like to know if it is possible to transform the database from phpbb to a Web Wiz Forums, in a way that i have all data from one working on another. there is a tool to do that? how could i do that? I´d be gratefull. |

that it is possible, i had already imagine..
because both are so much likely one with another but how do you imagine that it is possible to be done? I just gathering ideas! thank you all very much so far! |

| Nothing has been made specifically for convertinf from phpbb to Webwiz because they are different database formats. However I would strongly recommend you change to WWF |

I guess one of the first places to start would be to convert the
database into either ACCESS or MSSQL. PHPBB uses MYSQL by Default.
There are some great tools to do just that, at http://www.convert-in.com/sql2acc.htm - http://www.convert-in.com/sql2acc.htm Then I guess you should get the database, in the same format as WWF. Once it is in the same format then I guess you could give it a try.. Perhaps some brillinat, programmer could write a mod/script to convert the database... ------------- If you dont want my peaches, dont shake my tree |

| They most likely encrypt passwords differently, so you would after transfering users to the new database create new passwords for them and email them their new ones, or change the WWF code to use the same password encryption. |

Oh! thank so much to all of you for the ideas!
I´m feeling that it is a great question to be solved, because many people would migrate to WWF, if it was possible (and so easy or at least have a step-to-step process)!!!! And i know that here is enough (we!!)knowlege to do it!! so lets see what we have: steps: 1-transform all the database (with all data) into access/mssql format.. 2-rename tables, fields, etc, to match WWF format. 3-create tables, fields, etc (i think) 4-solve password encription problem. looks simple! (just do!) there are more ploblems to solve? are the steps correct? there are more steps? What you think? |

Thanks Tegwin, but that topic you mentioned is to a convertion from WWF to PHPBB... We are discussing how to convert from PHPBB to WWF..
