The migration tool doesn't seem to work for 6.26-->7.0 migration...

The old database doesn't have to be of version 6.34. I have converted a 6.11 version several times to 7.01 or 7 beta versions without any problems. Your problem is likely related to something else.

The Migration tool WILL work from 6.11 onwards (possibly from v6 provided the DB was not changed - Bruce please confirm). The problems that a very small minority of Users have experienced result from their particular Access setup.
Hope this helps

I also had probs with upgrading but it seems like all is well now. Im now uploading the upgraded MDB and i hope it works good now.

When i tried to convert the db's it said it couldnt find anything but all was named as supposed. But now i looked in my temp folder (tried it 4 weeks ago for the last time. ) to c that the DB (wwForum the v7 version. ) was grown to almost the same size as the old DB. Musta have done something that made it work. lol.

Well, I've downloaded my old 6.26 mdb and done the migration. Then I've putted the new file on my server, in a new v.7.1 installation folder. The members are right, but I've got this error message accessing forum/default.asp:

Microsoft JET Database Engine error '80040e10'

No value given for one or more required parameters

/forum/functions/functions_common.asp, line 383

Perhaps some missing configuration..???

Your problem sounds like the wrong Driver setting to me. Find the common.asp file in the forum folder (I assume that you have successfully changed the other common.asp in forum/admin in order to configure) and recheck you have correctly set the Pathname  name (strDbPathAndName=) as well as selecting the correct driver a few lines lower (line 198 unmodded).

For more info, reread Bruce's detailed setup instructions

Hope this helps

Thank you Nigelo for the fast reply!

But... but... I've got another error! I've corrected the database driver with the one:

strCon = "DRIVER={Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb)}; DBQ="....

But when I tried to access the forum's home page (default.asp) I've got this error:

Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80040e10'

[Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] Too few parameters. Expected 1.

/forum/functions/functions_common.asp, line 383

Well, functions_common.asp has only 300 lines... not 383. What shall I do?

(And now... bye bye! I start my holidays. The problem can wait!
See you next week! )

I have my db upgraded. I found out were i went wrong.
In the guide were it says how to rename them it says: ( not an exact quote) rename to old634.mdb & rename to new7.mdb
Renaming has to be done to old634 & new7  without the .mdb tags cuz its already a .mdb file.

I hope i help sum1 else out with this info cuz ive been struggling for a long long time on it.
