I upgraded the forum (version 8 to version to version 9) and am now having problems with it.

Although the forum looks ok, I can't look at another member's profile without an error "http 500" page appearing. It says:

"Most likely causes:
  • The website is under maintenance.
  • The website has a programming error"

any ideas?

First you need to:-

How to Turn Off Friendly HTTP Error Messages in Internet Explorer

Then you need to post what the error is, this will tell what is wrong.

There is no obvious reason for this error, so it suggests a corrupted file during the FTP process, which is the most common problem.

Try reuploading the original ASP files again.

Are you sure you upgraded from version 8 to version 9, as the field in the database it is looking for is a field called banned which was bought in for version 8. If this field isn't in your database version 8 shouldn't have worked either.

I used the upgrade tool and it said it had upgraded successfully. Version 8 worked absolutely fine for me, which is why this has me a tiny bit confused!
